In Sydney, I was Artistic Director of my own company: Thinking out Loud producing works by Female Writers, Artists and Musicians at The Sydney opera House and Belvoir Street Theatre. Always investing in lifting the Profile of Female works.

Over a period of five years these roles saw a range of skills required. From directing new initiatives and educational impulses to assisting directors in artistic choices in the rehearsal rooms, auditioning actors, rehearsing child actors, providing support and sound boarding for actors, directors and technical crew, taking shows of National Tours and working closely with lighting designers, wardrobe, technical and production staff. This position was a valued and important part of understanding a production from all sides and valuing all that go to create the whole. It calls for both flexibility in interpersonal skills and commitment in creative decision making. This was an integral, challenging and enriching position that has acted as a solid foundation both in theatre making & in working with a National Theatre company.
